Our Kombucha Tasting Sessions the last Saturday of every month will take you on a journey across different brands, styles, and flavours.

By now you’ve probably heard about Kombucha and all its amazing health benefits.

How it’s one of the fastest growing health drinks on the market across the UK.

Everybody who drinks it, swears by it.

But with so many different brands of Kombucha and flavours to choose from, it’s difficult to know where to start.

You may have even heard some horror stories about the Kombucha from the supermarkets being filled with sugar. That doesn’t sound good, and in some cases, those stories are right.

However, there are so many great Kombuchas out there that are brewed the right way, with amazing ingredients that are good for your health.

We’re talking gut health, immune system, and brain function.

We’ve all heard the saying, ‘healthy body, healthy mind’. 

Well, a glass of Kombucha a day really helps you to achieve that.

I’m testament to the health benefits it brings.

Or, it could have been that I stopped wearing skinny jeans around the same time.  We'll never know, but I was definitely at the age where I needed to change.  We can't all be like Mick Jagger after all.

This is us letting you know that you won't be trying any "kombuchas" you can pick up in the supermarket at one of our tasting sessions.  I obviously use the word loosely when it comes to what's being served up in supermarkets as "kombucha".  My promise to you is that you'll be trying kombuchas you've never experienced before, and you'll definitely taste and feel the difference afterwards.

"Went to a Kombucha Tasting Session on Sat 4th of May 2024 in Otley. Had a great time, tried lots of interesting Kombucha and some Kefir and cold brewed coffee. Kevin knows his stuff and is clearly passionate about making healthy, great tasting drinks available and in a sustainable way. It’s absolutely the future and i will definitely be visiting more often! "We really enjoyed this tasting event. Kev the owner is very friendly and welcoming, and passionate about the products he sells. The tasting allows you to explore the range of different kombuchas, which he explains very well. There is no hard sell and it was a very pleasant way to spend 90 minutes. Everyone who came bought a few items, just because we wanted to try things at home and we will definitely return to fill our fridge. This event is well worth trying, as it’s low key and fun and a relaxed atmosphere, but it’s well worth popping into the shop too to try something different, that’s also good for you!"

When people visit for the first time they can't believe a place like this exists, and that there's so many kombuchas and non-alcoholic beers to choose from.

 During the tasting session you'll get to try 8 different kombuchas while learning a little bit about gut health and what you can do to improve yours.

Our Story

At the start of 2023 I realised that my life was on auto-pilot and I was missing out on my little girl grow up.

Outside looking in, I had everything that is meant to make you happy.

Good job, house, car, family, partner, daughter, friends, Merlin Platinum Annual Pass.

And yet, I was on autopilot going from one day to the next.  I was existing, not living.

It was at that moment I decided I was not going to be that person on their death bed who wished they did things differently.

So I made the change.

I stopped drinking alcohol, focused on my gut health, and decided to become a better version of myself.  And most importantly, a role model for my little girl.

It's a journey, but it's made a lot easier with banging kombuchas and non-alcoholic craft beers to drink along the way.

What happens if I can no longer make the event?

We don't do refunds for the tickets, but we will let you attend any of the other Kombucha Tasting Session dates.

Just send an email to kevin@functionaldrinksclub.co.uk letting us know you can't make it and we'll get you booked on to another date.

Or, happy for you to sell your ticket on to someone else to take your place. Just let us know via email and we'll do the rest.

Do I only get to taste the Kombuchas showing in the pictures?

No, we have one of the largest ranges of Kombucha in West Yorkshire so we will mix it up every month.

We do have a a selection of Kombucha Brands that are core to us and will always be part of the tasting sessions.

With so many flavours and varieties, it will never be dull.
