Bold, spiced, and alive with flavour.

This one's for the ginger fiends, the spice chasers, and the herb enthusiasts who want their kombucha to have a bit of edge. Not sweet. Not subtle. Just six raw, unpasteurised kombuchas that mean business.

The Savoury Kombucha Box brings together six of the UK's most characterful independent producers, each one pushing kombucha into bold, complex, and genuinely exciting flavour territory. Every bottle is raw, every one is alive, and every sip is working hard for your gut.

Why Gut Health Actually Matters

Your gut microbiome, the trillions of bacteria, yeasts, and microorganisms living in your digestive system, influences far more than just digestion. Immunity, energy, mood, even how well you sleep: your gut has a hand in all of it.

Raw kombucha is one of the most pleasurable ways to support it. Naturally fermented and rich in live cultures, organic acids, and beneficial enzymes, it actively feeds the good bacteria your gut needs to thrive. A daily ritual that tastes like a reward, not a remedy.

Raw vs. Pasteurised: Why It Matters

Most kombucha on supermarket shelves has been pasteurised, meaning it's heat-treated to extend shelf life and standardise flavour. That process kills the live cultures, the bacteria and yeasts that give real kombucha its complexity, its natural fizz, and its gut-health credentials.

Raw, unpasteurised kombucha is alive. Still fermenting, still evolving, still packed with the organic acids, enzymes, and beneficial microorganisms that make it genuinely good for you. The flavour is more nuanced, the carbonation more natural, and the experience incomparable to anything you'll find next to the smoothies in the supermarket aisle.

Every bottle in this box is the real thing.

What's in the Box

Momo Kombucha — Turmeric
Earthy, golden, and grounding. Turmeric brings its anti-inflammatory credentials to a kombucha that's as good for you as it tastes. A slow sipper with real depth.

Loving Foods — Raspberry & Tulsi
Tulsi, also known as holy basil, is an adaptogenic herb revered for its calming, restorative properties. Paired with tart raspberry, this is herbal kombucha at its most elegant.

Kompassion Kombucha — Scotch Bonnet Chilli
Fermented heat. Slow-building, complex, and genuinely surprising. Not for the timid, but unforgettable for the curious. The most adventurous bottle in the box.

Jack's Kombucha — Masala Chai
Warming spices, cardamom, cinnamon, clove, meet the tang of raw kombucha. It's the crossover you didn't know you needed, and it absolutely works.

Pop Cultures — Zingy Ginger & Lime
Clean, sharp, and alive with natural carbonation. Ginger and lime is a classic pairing for a reason, and Pop Cultures nail it. The benchmark for what a ginger kombucha should be.

You + I — Ginger
Pure, zingy, and unapologetically gingery. One of the most celebrated kombuchas being made in the UK right now. A reminder of what ginger beer always wanted to be.

Six bottles. Six producers. One seriously happy gut.

Drink them chilled. Start with the ginger, end with the chilli. And when you find the one that clicks, you'll know exactly where to go next.

Important Information

What is Functional Drinks Club?

Functional Drinks Club is a shop in Leeds that helps people to live an alcohol free life and improve their gut health.

it's all about conscious living and helping people to turn off the auto-pilot switch and to experience life full on.

Where do the Kombuchas come from?

We handpick the Kombucha from the best UK Makers around.

Sometimes we'll throw in a European Banger we've come across that we want you to experience.

The key thing for us when it comes to Kombucha is that it's been made the real way.

Who is hand-picking the Kombuchas for the box?

Kombucha Kev will be handpicking the Booch that makes it into your box.

He's the Founder of Functional Drinks Club which was set-up to help people improve their gut health and go alcohol free.

You won't find anything in your curated box that Kev doesn't recommend or sell in the shop.

Can I order online and pick the box up in the shop?

You better believe you can.

Order your box, then come and collect it any day we're open once we've pinged you an email saying it's good to go.

The shop address for pick-up is:

Functional Drinks Club
17 Manor Square
Otley
LS21 1JQ

Why won't I find these bangers in the supermarket?

Because supermarkets don't care about selling their customers quality, they're only interested in profit.

And unfortunately, they're all tied in with the big drinks brands who take up a lot of the shelf space meaning the real bangers don't get the airtime they deserve.

Functional Drinks Club is Viva la Revolution.

Actually, we're just a shop that wants to make sure people get access to the real bangers being made in the UK.

How long does the delivery take?

Allow up to 4 working days for delivery depending on when you order it.

If you want it by the weekend then make sure you order no later than Tuesday.

Do you do returns?

Because we use real Kombucha, the product is bubbling with live culture making it hard to do returns.

But, we do have something in place.

We don't do returns on anything opened, or because you've taken a sip and decided you don't like it.

We're really confident that the latter won't happen because if we were selling rubbish no-one would come back to the shop in person.

If none of the above applies, we need to know within 24 hours of the box being delivered. Past that, who knows what you've been doing.

If you live local, happy for you to come into the shop as well to get bottles swapped out.

If the package is seriously damaged and the bottles inside are beyond anything, then send a picture to kevin@functionaldrinksclub.co.uk with you in it smiling and we'll look at getting a gift voucher to the equivalent amount your way.

At the end of the day, sometimes it just gets damaged in transit.

Why aren't your delivery boxes branded?

I used to send branded delivery boxes out, but then I read an article stating that over 80% of what we put in our green bins for recycling doesn't get recycled.

So, I decided to stop doing that and use the boxes that I get my deliveries in to the shop. That's why you'll have random branded boxes for your delivery.
