Zero Drama is the second bottle in the Gut Feeling range, my own house kombucha, made with Ashwagandha instead of the usual fruit and ginger you'll find everywhere else in the shop. If Mane Event is for your head, this one's for the rest of you. Small batch, live, unfiltered, and built for the days that need taking down a notch.

I'm not going to stand here and tell you one bottle of kombucha is going to sort your stress out. It won't. But it's a proper, grown-up drink for the evening that isn't a beer, and that's a genuinely useful thing to have in the fridge.

What's actually in it

Filtered water, cane sugar, tea mix, kombucha cultures, Ashwagandha extract (1%). 5ml of 10:1 extract per bottle, a raw material equivalent of roughly 5,000mg (5 grams) per bottle. Nothing else in there.

One thing worth knowing: if you're on thyroid medication, check with your doctor before making this a regular habit. Ashwagandha can interact with thyroid function, and that's not something to guess your way through.

500ml, not 330ml, on purpose

Same deal as the rest of the range. If you're drinking it for gut health, the usual guidance is around 150ml a day, so one bottle sees you through about three days. It also means it works brilliantly poured into a proper glass as your evening wind-down drink instead of a bottle of wine, same ritual, none of the 2am regret.

The proper stuff

Unpasteurised kombucha, fermented in small batches with Ashwagandha. Cloudy, live and short dated. The murky bits mean you no harm, that's fermentation, not a fault. Serve ice cold. A healthy gut starts with feeding it the right things first. Live. Unfiltered. Banging.

This is a fermented tea drink, not a medicine. It doesn't diagnose, treat, cure or prevent anything. Enjoy it as part of a normal, varied diet, and drink it because it's genuinely good, not because a label told you to.

Why Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is an adaptogenic herb used in Ayurvedic practice for centuries, and it's one of the more studied adaptogens in modern research, particularly around stress and sleep. Several human trials suggest it may help take the edge off day-to-day stress and support more restful sleep, though results vary between studies.

It's not a sedative and it won't switch your brain off - think of it as one small, useful tool in an evening routine, not a fix for the underlying reasons you're stressed. If you're on thyroid medication, check with your doctor before making this a regular habit.

This is background on the ingredient, not a health claim about this drink. Kombucha is a fermented tea, not a supplement or medicine.

FAQs

What is kombucha?

Kombucha is a fermented tea drink made by fermenting sweetened tea with a SCOBY (symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast). The result is a naturally fizzy, probiotic-rich beverage with a tangy, slightly sweet flavour.

What are the health benefits of kombucha?

Kombucha contains live probiotics that support digestive health, B vitamins, organic acids, and antioxidants from tea. Regular consumption may aid gut health, support immune function, and improve digestion.

What brands of kombucha do you stock?

We carry the UK's largest range, including our own Gut Feeling range alongside Blighty Booch, Momo, You + I, and other premium raw and organic brands. Browse our full collection online.

Do you deliver kombucha across the UK?

Yes, we deliver nationwide. We also offer local delivery in Otley and Leeds.

Does kombucha need to be refrigerated?

Yes. Refrigeration slows fermentation and keeps your kombucha fresh, fizzy, and safe to drink. Store between 2-4°C for best quality.

Is kombucha vegan and gluten-free?

Yes, every bottle in the Gut Feeling range is suitable for vegans and naturally gluten-free, as it's made from tea, sugar, cultures and a single functional extract.

What is Ashwagandha?

It's an adaptogenic herb used in Ayurvedic practice for centuries, most commonly associated with stress and sleep support.

Can I drink this every day?

Most people can, but if you're on thyroid medication or any regular prescription, check with your doctor first, as Ashwagandha can interact with thyroid function.

Will it make me drowsy?

It's not a sedative, so it shouldn't knock you out, but some people find it helps them wind down in the evening. We wouldn't recommend it before driving or anything that needs sharp focus.

Is Ashwagandha safe during pregnancy?

No, we don't recommend Ashwagandha, or any of our kombucha, if you're pregnant or breastfeeding.
